  • After shifting from Delhi to Mumbai on September 5, 2006, he worked as an Assistant Director for a few years. Throughout an interview, he talked about his struggling days. He noted,

Initially, I used to wake up early every morning and go to each production house. I will come there to apply for a job. I’ve worked in theater in my early stages and I’ve always been fascinated by how administrators work so much more than actors do. These days, their treatment of assistants was ridiculous at best. It’s just a few manufacturing houses, through which they’re going to ask you for water.

He further stated,

Nevertheless, I was in Santacruz and someone advised me that there was some work at GS Leisure, but when I got there, they denied that there was any other option. On my way out, I noticed Vidhu Vinod Chopra’s production house. I entered there and this time, I was completely drained after being rejected by several production houses. I have no support and I am not from any film background. I can also work as a trainer. I entered the production house and asked the receptionist for a job, and she recognized a man sitting there called Mithun Gangopadhyay, who has been my closest friend since then in Mumbai. He was additionally an assistant director there, which he joined last year.

Whether immediately or directly, we are now additionally affected by terrorism. So, when I heard about the strikes, I wanted to understand how the Army pulled this off. At the top of my six months of analysis, I found this to be the most effective covert military operation ever carried out by the Indian Army, and I knew I had to tell this story.
