Maim Kobi was born on Sunday, 29 June 1975 (Age 46 years; Until 2021) in Chennai, India. He attended Singharam Pillai Higher Secondary School, Villivakam, Chennai, Tamil Nadu for his primary and secondary education. Mime Gobi developed his interest in mime and started acting as a mime artist. Mime is a form of acting that uses body movements rather than speech to convey a story.
